The most entertaining concert event of the season happens at Washington Park Wednesdays with music and live circus acts on August 13, 2025 at Milwaukee’s historic Washington Park Bandshell (4599 W. Lloyd St., Milwaukee). Washington Park Wednesday Happy Hour begins at 5 p.m., with live music starting at 6 p.m. throughout the concert series.

 

First, Milwaukee Hot Club brings its signature swing sound. Channeling the spirit of the late Diango Reinherdt with high-energy, danceable rhythms including swing, bossa and samba often elevated with saxophone and vocal harmonies, creating an intoxicating acoustic blend. They’ll be followed by Mambo Surfers, a world-rhythm quintet cofounded by Ron Jones and Saji Villoth that offers a rich weave of Americana, jazz, blues, folk and socially conscious songwriting. Their sound – built on layered guitars, percussion and soulful vocals – reflects multicultural influences and decades of local performances.

 

Throughout the evening, Professor Pinkerton’s live circus acts will transform Washington Park into a kaleidoscope of movement and rhythm — with jazz-era flair one moment, and playful spectacle the next..
